Dr. Aileen C. Dowell provides vision and leadership for the Office of Student Integrity at GGC. She is responsible for adjudicating all disciplinary and non-disciplinary infractions for the College, including alcohol and other drugs, academic integrity, disorderly conduct, etc. Dowell is also responsible for utilizing assessment data to align with best practices in the conduct field, implementing programmatic and policy changes and supervising the Office of Student Integrity staff.
Dowell also serves on the Student Behavioral Concerns Team that addresses incidents in which students exhibit behaviors that may be deemed disruptive and/or threatening. Dowell also serves on the college wide IEE 6 committee: Demonstrate an understanding of moral and ethical principles.
In addition to conduct experience, Dowell also brings experience from other areas within Student Affairs including, student athlete support services, financial aid, and housing and residence life. Her teaching experiences include English as a second language (ESL) instruction at Gwinnett Technical College.
A native of Miami, Florida, Dowell received a baccalaureate degree from Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga.; a master of education degree and a doctorate in higher education administration from Auburn University in Auburn, Ala. Her dissertation research is titled Examining Alcohol-Related Expectancies within College Class Standing.
