Dr. DeAnna Jackson’s primary focus as the associate director of Advising Programs is to help students reach their academic, personal and career goals. Working with the director in the Mentoring and Advising Center at Georgia Gwinnett College, she ensures that high standards of advising consistency and quality are met. She enjoys working each day with advisors, faculty and staff to develop success plans for students. Her passions include developmental education, diversity, educational program development and leadership.
Jackson received her Ed.D. degree from the University of Georgia in workforce education. Jackson’s focus for research and study is academic procrastination, academic self-efficacy, utilization of peer mentoring and techniques to improve time management skills for students. Her many years of experience in higher education as a student affairs counselor and academic advisor provide her with a unique and holistic view of student concerns and issues.
