Biography

Dr. McDuffie joined the faculty of the School of Liberal Arts of Georgia Gwinnett College as an associate professor of religion in 2011. Prior to this appointment, she taught religion and philosophy at Young Harris College for several years. She received her master’s degree in theological studies from Candler School of Theology and her Ph.D. in religion from Emory University. She has taught courses in world religions, ethics, philosophy, history of Christianity, yoga and gender and spirituality. She is the author of “Augustine’s Rhetoric of the Feminine in the Confessions: Woman as Mother, Woman as Other,” in Feminist Interpretations of Augustine, Judith Chelius Stark, ed. (Pennsylvania University Press, 2007) and To Our Bodies Turn We Then: Body as Word and Sacrament in the Works of John Donne (Continuum, 2005).
