Biography

Dr. MaryBeth Chrostowsky received a Ph.D. in anthropology from University of Kentucky. With funding from the NSF she conducted research in South Sudan among repatriated Dinka refugees. Her passion for anthropology and teaching began as a Peace Corps TEFL instructor in Chad and Cameroon (1996–1999). For more than 10 years, she has been conducting research on the challenges that forced migrants face integrating and adjusting in both the United States and Africa. Before coming to GGC, she was a post-doctoral fellow in the Forced Migration Innovation Project at Southern Methodist University. She has previously taught at Eastern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky and Transylvania University.
