Ms. Paula Krone joined the Georgia Gwinnett College faculty as a part-time mathematics instructor in the fall of 2010. She became a full-time mathematics instructor in the fall of 2011. Prior to her current appointment, Krone was a practicing attorney concentrating in technology, business, copyright and trademark law. She also practiced education law, concentrating in special education. She served as a special education and charter school mediator for the State of Georgia Department of Education. She also has extensive experience as a mediator in Fulton County Landlord/Tenant court.

Krone taught the Legal Environment of Business course at Georgia Perimeter College, and she taught technology law at John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. She taught paralegal courses in business and contract law at DeKalb Technical Institute, and she taught criminal law and procedure for the paralegal at Atlanta Technical College.

Krone served for two years as the chair of the Management Information Systems Committee of the State Bar of Georgia, where she oversaw the Bar’s efforts to convert its computer systems to be compatible with Y2K (Year 2000) technology. Prior to becoming an attorney, Krone spent more than 15 years in the information systems arena, including eight years as a systems programming manager for large corporations including CBS, Inc. and Equitable Life.

She began her information systems career at IBM Corporation in Poughkeepsie. Prior to becoming a technology professional, Krone taught mathematics in the secondary environment in Middletown Public Schools in New York State. She has now come full circle and is enjoying teaching mathematics once again.
