Commend an Officer

We encourage you to share your experiences interacting with our officers. Please take a moment to recognize officers who perform duties in a manner that is exceptional and who positively contribute a game-changing attitude to our GGC community.

Complaint Process

We value your opinions and work hard to continually improve individual performances and the quality of services we provide the campus community. If you wish to submit a complaint, the following options are available.

  • Complete the Comment on an Officer form.
  • Email GGC Campus Police.
  • Phone the chief of police or any supervisor, 678.407.5333, to provide a statement over the phone or schedule an appointment.
  • Visit Campus Police (Building D) and request to speak with the on-duty supervisor.

Each complaint will be forwarded to a supervisor who may attempt to mediate and/or resolve the conflict. If the supervisor is unable to resolve the complaint, it will be forwarded for further review by a division commander or an internal administrative investigator.

When the on-duty supervisor takes your statement, please provide as much information as you can. The on-duty supervisor will review the facts provided in your statement and circumstances surrounding your complaint and may attempt to mediate and/or resolve the conflict. If the on-duty supervisor is unable to resolve the complaint, the complaint will be forwarded for further review by a division commander or an internal administrative investigator.

NOTE: Complaints regarding the validity of a particular law enforcement action undertaken by a police officer (e.g., traffic citations or arrests) should be addressed to the judge hearing your case.

If you’ve provided contact information, you will be notified of the completion of the investigation. The complainant may appeal an investigation decision to the chief of police. The chief’s decision will constitute the final action on the investigation.
