Sign up for Rave Alert and get up-to-date info about campus closures, severe weather and other critical communications – sent right to your cell.

The campus alert system allows GGC to communicate with students, faculty, staff and key partners effectively and quickly if necessary. This system, called Rave Alert, is a complete alerting and campus communication platform that can deliver information in a timely manner by text message, email and recorded voice message.

Make sure you receive critical communications, and sign up for Rave Alert today! Campus users must provide a valid contact phone number for the Rave notification. Once the number is provided, it is the responsibility of the users to update their phone numbers within the system and keep them current.

What is Rave Alert?

GGC has partnered with Rave Mobile Safety, the leader in mobile safety, to offer an alert notification system, Rave Alert, capable of sending users text, recorded voice and email messages.

What type of messages will I receive?

GGC will only send you messages related to important alerts. You will never receive advertisements, and your information is never provided to advertisers.

Who can subscribe/use the service?

Any GGC student, staff or faculty member, or campus partner can subscribe to the Rave Alert service.

I'm a GGC parent; can I subscribe to the service?

Only members of the GGC community have accounts in the Campus Alert System. Your student may include your contact information as one of their optional contacts in their account.

Is there a charge for the service?

Rave Alert does not charge subscribers to send or receive SMS messages. Standard or other messaging charges apply, depending upon your wireless carrier plan and subscription details.

What is my username?

Your username is your GGC ID and password, the same one you use when logging into the portal or email. You do not need to enter as part of the username.

What mobile phone carriers are supported?

All U.S. mobile carriers are supported.

What if my cell phone number changes?

If your mobile number ever changes, please login to MyGGC (login required) or (login required) and update your contact details.

What if my cell phone provider changes?

If you keep the same mobile number and simply change cell phone provider, you do not have to change anything; however, it may take several weeks for your mobile provider to update the Rave Alert system. During that time it is possible that you will not be able to receive messages unless you login to update your carrier information.

Will I receive advertisements or text messaging SPAM?

No, never. We respect your privacy, and you will never receive anything besides official GGC communications.

How will I identify incoming messages from Rave Alert?

You will be sent messages from what are known as short codes. The messages will come from either 67283 or 226787. We encourage you to save these numbers into your phone so you will recognize them when messages are sent. Some smaller carriers do not support short code messaging.
