Are you interested in how children and adolescents learn? If so, I encourage you to explore the GGC School of Education. We can help you earn your teaching certification while you complete your bachelor’s degree.

You may choose Early Childhood Education, which will prepare you to work with preschoolers through fifth graders.

You may decide to pursue Special Education, which will provide you with the knowledge and skills to work with learners with mild disabilities.

Or, if your passion is for teaching in a particular content area, you may explore the GGC teacher certification tracks in Biology, English, History, Mathematics or Political Science.

Regardless of what age group or subject you wish to teach, you will find that GGC has designed programs that utilize cutting-edge technologies and research-based teaching strategies that engage learners. You will learn how to examine data related to student learning and to make decisions about how best to use that data. You will learn methods of collaborative teaching by observing our faculty team-teach courses. And you will learn to build classroom environments that are culturally responsive – a necessary skill in today’s world of diverse students.

At Georgia Gwinnett College, we will not simply talk about good teaching practices; we will model them. Thanks to a strong partnership with Gwinnett County Public Schools, our students spend a considerable amount of time working alongside successful, knowledgeable educators in local classrooms. These specially designed clinical and field experiences give GGC students ample opportunity to develop and practice their teaching skills before they graduate. This enables them to become flexible, adaptive teachers who will respond to changing needs in the classroom.
