Nathan Orgill, PhD, Assistant Professor, History, had another paper accepted for presentation next fall. It is entitled "The Wilhelmine Press: National or Transnational?" and he will present it for one of several panels at the annual meeting of the German Studies Association for a series of papers on "Cosmopolitical and Transnational Interventions."
In addition, the organizers of that series have also asked him to serve as a commentator on a separate panel.
The second panel information is an interdisciplinary session on "Nodes, Networks, Crossroads" which would include papers on "What Do Signs Signify? International Treaties, the Ortstafelstreit, and the Spaces of German", "Netzwelten. Grenzauflösungen in der deutschsprachigen Gegenwartsliteratur", and "Borders and Borderspaces in Hans Christian Schmid’s Film 'Lichter'".
The meeting of the German Studies Association will take place in October 2010 in Oakland, California. The German Studies Association is the most highly regarded organization in the United States for the study of German history, language and literature. Its annual meeting draws together experts from all corners of the country, but also in fairly large numbers from abroad and especially from Germany. |
