The B.A. degree in political science is for students interested in a wide range of career choices, including government service, advocacy, legislative assistance, international non-government organizations, non-profit management, education, law school and graduate school. All students will take core courses that provide a solid foundation for advanced study, as well as concentration courses.
Students may select one of four concentrations: American government, comparative politics, international relations, and legal studies. This format also allows students to take additional political science courses from other concentrations to build a second discipline concentration area, or to take electives in another discipline.
Students pursuing the teacher certification concentration will take a combination of comprehensive education and political science courses designed to prepare graduates for careers as teachers.
