Information technology (ITEC) is the multidisciplinary study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and system networks. ITEC professionals accomplish a range of tasks from developing and installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases.
This program prepares students for opportunities in almost every field, from business to health care, arts to entertainment, education to government, forensics to national security. Students graduate as ITEC professionals with knowledge of computer hardware and software, databases, telecommunications, wireless technology and the Internet, combined with the skills of effective communications, teamwork and leadership. The three tracks provide students opportunities for in depth research and internships that prepare students to pursue a variety of careers.
- Business Track. This track is for students interested in information technology positions in business and prepares students with a core of ITEC topics as well as courses in business, management and marketing. View program plan (PDF).
