
Dr. Chulsung Kim
Biography
Dr. Kim joined the Georgia Gwinnett College faculty as an associate professor in the fall of 2007. Prior to his current appointment, he taught at the University of Dubuque as an assistant professor of the Environmental Science program in Dubuque, Iowa. Kim's research efforts have focused on chemical transformation of contaminants in natural and engineered aquatic systems and the remediation of contaminated aquatic and soil matrixes through bench-to-pilot-scale experiments as well as thermodynamic simulations using MINTEQA2. Kim participates extensively in the development of science education pedagogies and undergraduate research experiences as well. Kim's research outcomes have been disseminated through more than 20 peer-reviewed journals and 30 professional meeting presentations. Kim has served as a principal investigator for many projects to enhance his environmental chemistry and chemical education research. He has received financial support from the State of Minnesota, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, the National Park Service, the Iowa Science Foundation, the Iowa College Foundation, the Dorr Foundation, the William McPherson Foundation and the Monticello College Foundation.
