Software Development Track, Information Technology Major
Software developers created all of the programs you use such as your web browser, word processor, games and social networking sites. In this concentration you learn to change your role from user to creator. Instead of just using existing programs, as a developer you can use your creative and analytical skills to design and implement new programs and reinvent old technology for a new generation of users.
As part of your work in this concentration, you will take several programming courses and develop a basic background in the sciences and mathematics. Upper level courses include software development, project courses and an internship experience. Several electives are available such as human computer interactions, advanced networking, information security, computer graphics and multimedia and computer game software development.
