Systems and Security Track, Information Technology Major

Ever use Google? Facebook? Twitter? These are all examples of systems, and all of these sites must work to keep their sites secure and available. Did you try using Twitter or Facebook on the morning of August 6, 2009? Keeping these systems secure and available is quite challenging and requires teamwork and strong analytical as well as technical skills. The systems and security track focuses on the big concepts that are applicable in every system as well as the technology you need to know to apply these concepts.

As part of your work in this concentration, you will take several programming courses and develop a basic background in the sciences and mathematics. Upper level courses include system analysis and design, information security, project courses and an internship experience. Several electives are available such as human computer interactions, advanced networking, internet security, and operations and project management.
