The Academic Enhancement Center (AEC) is a support facility for the classroom and GGC learning programs. Specifically, it is an area where tutoring and study skills assistance are provided to any student experiencing academic difficulties.

English and basic mathematics tutors - available at all times.

The AEC is also a place where students can be taught to become more confident, efficient and effective learners in order to successfully meet academic standards and improve their learning strategies. Center services may include individual and group tutoring in most disciplines offered by GGC, academic and skill-building workshops, success seminars and supplemental instruction.

The AEC is equipped with computers making a range of resources available for students:

assessment tools
handouts
handbooks and resources
Compass practice tests
citation manuals to help students document their research using APA (American Psychological Association) or MLA (Modern Language Association) styles

Location

Students are always welcome at either of the two AEC locations. Each locale specializes in specific types assistance:

GGC Library and Learning Center, Second Floor
Come to this location for more intensive help with math, science, information technology and business.

Building B Suite 2400
Come to this location for more intensive help in English and the other liberal arts disciplines, such as Spanish, French, history, psychology and sociology.

Hours

The Academic Enhancement Center will maintain regular hours for the duration of the spring 2012 semester, Jan. 9 - May 8. Tutors for mathematics and English/writing are available at all times. Tutors for all other subjects will be available at specially scheduled times. Call us for details.

During the spring 2012 semester both AEC locations will be open during the following times:

Monday	9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday	9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Wednesday	9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Thursday	9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Friday	9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday	10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Sunday	1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Both locations will be closed for the Martin Luther King holiday, Jan. 16, and during spring break, March 11-18.
