Congratulations! The students, faculty and staff of GGC welcome you to the Grizzly Campus and congratulate you on your acceptance into Georgia Gwinnett College.
We've gathered information for you in this section to help guide you from your first day through your first year.
We want to make your transition into college life a positive and meaningful experience.
Submit the rest of your paperwork and apply for financial aid as soon as you are admitted.
Follow this easy checklist (PDF) to make sure you have everything in place to begin your first semester at GGC.
Step 1 – Submit advanced placement and CLEP test scores. If you have taken advanced placement or have completed a CLEP test and wish to receive college credit, official test scores must be sent to GGC. Request official reports at www.collegeboard.com. Questions about credit for AP and CLEP should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are interested in taking a CLEP test at GGC, please visit Testing Services.
Step 2 – Submit your final transcripts from your last term of enrollment. Freshman students should submit official high school transcripts; transfer students should submit official final college transcripts with no “in progress” courses posted.
Step 6 – You will receive an email invitation to Bear Essentials about two months before new student registration. This orientation/new student registration is mandatory for all new Grizzlies, so sign up early as sessions fill up quickly. This opportunity is designed by the Office of New Student Connections to help you succeed in your first year, no matter if you are an incoming freshman, transfer or nontraditional student.
Step 8 – Pay your tuition in full by the stated tuition deadline date.
Path to Success Day
Designed as a stress-free day before the first day of classes, new students may come to campus to buy books, find classrooms, get parking information, meet with financial aid for last-minute assistance and much more. Stay tuned to the events calendar for the next date just prior to the beginning of each semester.
Join the GGC community, other new students, faculty and staff for Grizzly Days, a week of fun activities and programs. Experience our symbolic “March through the Arch” – the Arch of Knowledge – to be ceremoniously greeted by the Faculty Gauntlet: a receiving line of your intellectual mentors at GGC. You’ll also be treated to movies, games and other events, including an introduction to GGC’s grizzly mascot – The General.Have questions?
