Terrence Burruss

Mr. Terrence Burruss

Mr. Terrence Burruss grew up in Lawrenceville, Ga. and graduated from Central Gwinnett High School in 2013. After high school, Burruss attended Kennesaw State University and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in communication. As a "Gwinnettian," Burruss witnessed Georgia Gwinnett College grow into a premier institution of higher learning over the years, and relished the opportunity to return to his community and be a part of the great things taking place at GGC.

During his undergrad years, Burruss kept a good balance of scholarship and extracurricular activities; he was involved in many organizations including the African American Male Initiative, the Center for Student Leadership and even began his own registered student organization. He was also involved in undergraduate research concerning the underrepresentation of black males in STEM fields, and has also presented at Texas A&M and the University of Alabama on the topic of converging collegiate leadership and hip-hop culture. Burruss hopes to continue to cultivate his skills in public speaking, interpersonal communication and mentoring in order to be a helpful and inspiring counselor to students across the state of Georgia.

Burruss joined the admissions staff in June of 2018, and looks forward to bringing his unique approach to recruitment to attract a diverse student body to GGC. In his free time, he loves to read, write, listen to music and spend time with close friends and family.
