The Office of Diversity and Equity Compliance oversees the College’s equal opportunity, affirmative action, non-discrimination, harassment and related policies, and investigates complaints of alleged discrimination, harassment, prohibited amorous relationships and violations against persons in the protected classes.

Diversity and Equity Compliance investigates complaints of alleged violations of the rights of persons based on membership in protected classes and serve the College’s interest in promoting a diverse campus climate.

What is Title IX?

"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." —Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972

Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. Georgia Gwinnett College is committed to providing an environment free of discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual assault, relationship (dating and domestic) violence and stalking. Georgia Gwinnett College provides resources and reporting options to students, faculty and staff to address concerns related to sexual harassment and sexual violence prohibited by Title IX and GGC policy.

Employee responsibilities

All staff (including student employees) and faculty have the responsibility for helping make GGC a safe and welcoming community. If you know of an incident of sexual misconduct or any discrimination on the basis of sex, you must immediately report it to a member of the Title IX team.
