Georgia Gwinnett College subscribes to the principles of “inclusive excellence,” as articulated by the Association of American Colleges & Universities. To that end, GGC is committed to addressing diversity, inclusion and equity as critical to the wellbeing of democratic culture.

We are committed to providing an integrated experience that helps you develop as a whole person, and that is reflected in everything we do. From class projects to student activities, you are connected to the community in a way that expands your perspective and prepares you for success in the real world.

How can we help?

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to the educational experience and central to all parts of GGC's mission. GGC embraces our responsibility to create a welcoming environment for all members of the community, including underrepresented faculty, staff and students; persons with disabilities; lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons; persons of disadvantaged socioeconomic status; and nontraditional and international students.

Harassment Prevention, Nondiscrimination and Title IX

GGC is dedicated to creating a work and learning environment that is free from all forms of harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct. If you have a concern about either of these issues, the Office of Diversity and Equity Compliance is here to help. We can answer your questions, connect you to resources or help you file a complaint. GGC policies prohibit retaliation against anyone for coming forward with a concern or submitting a complaint.

Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action

The equal opportunity and affirmative action (EO/AA) component of our office offers campus-wide guidance on Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act, Title IX of the Education Amendments Act and the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistant Act. We also serve as the college's liaison to the federal government in matters of contract compliance concerning equal employment opportunity. EO/AA develops the college's Affirmative Action Plan, oversees its implementation and reviews employee recruitment, hiring and other personnel actions.

Training

The Office of Diversity and Equity Compliance offers education, training and consultation services to all members of the campus community. Many sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of specific audiences. Our educational services are designed to strengthen the GGC community's understandings of inclusion, equal opportunity, harassment, discrimination and further our commitment to diversity.
