I am interested in applying, where do I begin?

Please do not mail or hand deliver any materials but download them into your account. Please select a user name and password that you will easily remember. You should write down your user name and password. You will need it to apply for other positions or check the status of your application the next time you visit the site.

What information will I be asked to provide?

You will be asked to provide personal information such as name, address, phone number, email, etc. You will also be asked to provide information about your education and previous employment, as well as contact information regarding your employment history and references. Do I have to fill out an application?

If you close your browser prior to clicking "SAVE AND CONTINUE TO NEXT" or "SAVE AND STAY ON THIS PAGE," your application and account will be saved, but you will lose the information on the last page that was not saved.

Can I copy selected information from another electronic document?

Yes, for example, you can copy and paste the information from a Word or WordPerfect document directly into the appropriate fields in the application form.

My document was created using a Mac, what do I need to do?

If you need assistance with converting files from Mac to PC, please visit the help page created by the National Teacher Training Institute.

Is the position still open?

All jobs that are currently posted on our Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) employment website are open.

What is the status of my application?

The status of your application will update as the hiring office reviews applications. Once an office "closes" a position, it means they are no longer accepting more applications, and the listing is removed from the job posting. It may be some time between the time an office closes the position and when they fill the position. All jobs must be posted for at least 10 working days before any offer can be made. However, for many positions in universities, there can be long lag times (sometimes up to 6 months or more), between the time a job is posted and the time it is filled. If it's still on the posting, it's still an active vacancy.

If a hiring office wishes to interview you for a position, they will contact you directly. If you are not selected for the position, you will receive an email of regret.

In addition to checking the status of your application, you can also search the current vacancies, update your application and change the password of your account. When you have completed accessing those areas of interest, always remember to log out. The employment application may contain your personal and private information. Should you have any questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Human Resources at 678.407.5070. You can also email us at apply@ggc.edu.

What is the definition of applicant?

In compliance with the Office of Federal Contractor's Compliance Programs (OFCCP) October 7, 2005 ruling, Georgia Gwinnett College has adopted the following definition of an applicant:

  • An individual must submit an expression of interest for a specific job.
  • The individual possesses the basic qualifications for the position (including materials requested).
  • And the individual at no point during the selection process prior to receiving an offer of employment from the contractor (employer) removes himself or herself from further consideration or otherwise indicates that s/he is no longer interested in the position.

What if my application materials are unsolicited?

Unsolicited resumes, or materials requesting general consideration for any position, will not be considered to be applications or retained. Applications previously submitted are not automatically matched with new vacant positions. Applicants must request consideration and resubmit materials for each vacant position using our on line, GGC web-base employment application system.

All application materials (such as cover letters, letters of reference, transcripts, etc.) should be submitted at the time of application using the on-line GGC web-based employment application system and become the property of Georgia Gwinnett College.

For each position for which you meet the minimum requirements, the application materials are viewable to the hiring department for their review.

What is GGC's policy on employment eligibility?
