Human Resources provides the overarching framework and guidance for the Staff Onboarding program, but the “I am GGC” commitment is a collaborative partnership across multiple disciplines/departments. 

Staff Onboarding at Georgia Gwinnett College is a twelve-month process broken into stages to ensure employees are well rounded and fully immersed in our culture.  We seek to inspire new employees to embrace their role towards our success and to embrace the belief that I am GGC.

Before long, a New Grizzly will adopt the “I am GGC” culture and will begin his/her game-changing contributions toward the success of the College’s mission. 

Day One Welcome

Each new Grizzly will have a personal welcome introduction with our Senior HR Generalist; receiving valuable information for a smooth transition into his/her new role and to ensure success here at GGC. 

Benefits Orientation

New Grizzlies have the opportunity to meet with our Senior Benefits Manager to discuss healthcare, dental, vision, life and retirement options available to employees of the University System of Georgia (USG).

Navigate GGC Policy Orientation

New Grizzlies will have the opportunity to spend time with our employee orientation team to learn how to successfully navigate their way through GGC’s systems, policies and procedures, as well as learning about GGC’s leadership, core values and culture. The intent of this orientation is to Navigate through GGC in a way that will engage, excite and educate our new staff. 

Key policies and procedures are addressed in this orientation to familiarize and have a better understanding of adherence to GGC's policies and procedures as well as those of the University System of Georgia (USG). 

The day ends with a tour of GGC’s beautiful campus and innovative facilities.

New Employee Quarterly Orientation

New Grizzlies will interact with this key leadership while learning about each individual’s respective area and how their goals align with GGC’s mission.  In this exclusive setting, New Grizzlies also have the opportunity to ask questions and conversations with our key leadership; an opportunity that many may not have in their everyday endeavors.
