"Modeling Insider Threat Behavior in Financial Institutions." Funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF)
The research is being conducted by Dr. Melchor de Guzman, Professor of Criminal Justice/Criminology. Funded as a sub-award from the University of Texas - San Antonio’s NSF SES Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace Grant, Dr. de Guzman has developed a survey which is administered to financial institution employees to investigate the risk of insider threat at financial institutions using criminology theories along with conducting focus groups with white collar crime investigators and with the National White Collar Crime Center. Because banking and finance is a critical infrastructure results from this research will impact public policy with respect to regulations for financial institutions.
