“Developing Project Based Course Materials for ITEC 2130 Web Technologies." Funded by the USG Affordable Learning Georgia (ALG) Textbook Transformation Grant.

Dr. Shuting Xu (Principal Investigator) and Dr. Shuhua Lai (co-Principal Investigator) received funding from the USG to identify, select and adopt/create no-cost materials to replace the costly ITEC 2130 Web Technologies textbook, while achieving the same learning outcomes. The teaching and learning course materials they proposed to create will be project based. Project-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy that involves a dynamic classroom approach in which students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. By using the proposed project-based course materials, the project team hopes students will be more engaged in the classroom, gain experience in working on real-world applications, and improve their academic success. Dr. Xu is Associate Professor of Information Technology and Dr. Lai is Professor of Information Technology in the School of Science and Technology.
