Serving as Principal Investigator, Dr. Tom Mundie, Dean of the School of Science and Technology, received the second-year funding for a two-phase STEM Education Improvement Plan grant sponsored by the University of Georgia’s STEM Initiative. The grant will allow SST’s Four-year Undergraduate Research and Create Experience (4YrURCE) Program to continue its work in creating a model that systematically scaffolds course-embedded research and creative experiences into every STEM major in each of the four years of their undergraduate matriculation.Serving as Program Manager is Dr. Judy Awong-Taylor, Professor of Biology. Serving as co-PIs are Dr. Clay Runck, Assistant Professor of Biology; Dr. Allison D’Costa, Associate Professor of Biology; Dr. David Pursell, Professor of Chemistry; Dr. Tirza Leader, Assistant Professor of Psychology; Dr. Bernadette Peiffer, Assistant Professor of Science Education; Dr. Cindy Achat-Mendes, Assistant Professor of Biology; and Dr. Chantelle Anfuso, Assistant Professor of Chemistry. Dr. Katherine Pinzon, Associate Professor of Mathematics, is a senior personnel in the project.
