New Faculty Orientation
Georgia Gwinnett College is pleased to welcome you to our community of dedicated educators. To better acquaint you with the many resources that GGC has to offer, your are required to attend a New Faculty Orientation before you begin teaching. Before you begin
We hope you will review the agenda for the full-time and the part-time New Faculty Orientation sessions.
After that, take a moment to review information on this website about how to access teaching, college and student engagement resources. You'll find some very helpful information, including how to get your college ID and where to get your parking decal.
Important Dates
- Friday, August 3: Full-time faculty must return their I-9 forms to Human Resources in Building B-2500 by this day. For your convenience, we have included several opportunities for you to file this important paperwork during the first week of New Faculty Orientation.
- Thursday, August 16: The Faculty Senate Luncheon for all faculty will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Center Dining Hall.
- Thursday, August 16: The Faculty Senate Panel - a part of New Faculty Orientation - will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in Cisco Auditorium.
- Thursday, August 16: All faculty are expected to attend the New Student March through the Arch of Knowledge at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, August 18: The President’s Reception for all new faculty will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (The location TBA)
For faculty who need childcare services to attend the President’s Reception, GGC has arranged to have free care available from 5:30-8:30 p.m. through the Kids-R-Kids Child Care Center. If you plan to use this service, you must fill out a form, available from your associate dean, by Tuesday, August 7.
Important Reminders
- You must fill out and return a vehicle registration application form to the Parking Services Office (Building A-1002) during Orientation.
- The parking decal form may be filled out may be obtained from your associate dean and/or the new faculty orientation website (http://www.ggc.edu/new-faculty).
- To obtain your Claw Card, visit the Claw Card Office, located in the Student Center, room 3116.
The Claw Card Office is open weekdays, 9 - 11 a.m. and 1 - 6 p.m.
