Louis Enrique Negrón, Director of Minority Outreach Programs

Louis Enrique Negrón earned a Bachelor of Spanish Degree from Morehouse College and a
Master of Science Degree from Central Michigan University in General Administration. He
has 14 years experience as a trainer and non-profit leader, educator and consultant, along
with 7 years experience in higher education administration.

He began his higher education career at Clark Atlanta University as an Adjunct Instructor
and later moved on to Gainesville State College to serve as Coordinator of the Office of
Hispanic Outreach & Development. Before he was in higher education, Negrón worked as
a non-profit consultant specializing in community advocacy and organization of grassroots
movements. He also worked in Washington, D.C., with the Children’s Defense Fund and
the Urban Strategies League in Oakland California as a trainer and advocate. Negrón has
expertise in grant writing and has translated that experience to his higher education
career with grants written for the Goizueta Leadership Program at Gainesville State
College. He joined the staff at GGC in August 2008.

Accomplishments

  • Created new outreach programs to assist under-represented students in higher education
  • Developed annual fundraiser & strategies for non-state funds
  • Revamped Office of Hispanic Outreach and Development at Gainesville State College
  • Developed and implemented African-American Male Initiative at Gainesville State College
  • Serving as the first Director of the Office of Minority Outreach Programs at Georgia Gwinnett College
