Traci Henry, English Education Major
"My favorite memory [of GGC] is also my most embarrassing. It was when I cried in front of my math professor after I failed my first test. She calmed my fears, and gave me the confidence I needed; I wound up getting a great grade in the class. I firmly believe our failures are when we learn the most!"
Meet Traci, she is one of GGC's non-traditional students who juggles school, family and work, yet maintains excellent grades. She has been named to the Dean’s List for the 2008-2009 school year, and works hard to set an example of dedication and perseverance for her two young children.
Since she comes from a family of educators, it seems natural that Traci has chosen English education as her major. She has spent the last 20 years in the automobile business and has decided now is the time for a change. After graduation, Traci plans to teach high school English in Gwinnett County, while working on her master’s degree in high school guidance counseling.
Traci also has an adventurous side. For her upcoming birthday - her 40th - she plans on going skydiving! Outside school, Traci keeps busy with her family, church and instructing swim classes.
