"GGC helped me meet my goals to continue my education and prepared me well for graduate school. The professors gave me a lot of great advice and have always been there for me."

The wisest people, they say, are those who have a constant thirst for learning. Ashly Kirkpatrick is one of those people.

Ashly chose GGC after earning her associates degree, and received her bachelor's degree in biology.  She plans to pursue her master's degree, possibly studying neurology, with an eye on a career in medicine.

"My mom has multiple sclerosis and so I wanted to learn more about the disease, and possibly search for a cure,"Ashly says. "GGC helped me meet my goals to continue my education and prepared me well for graduate school. The professors gave me a lot of great advice and have always been there for me."

Because GGC was brand new, offered biology, and was located close to Ashly’s home in Lawrenceville, it quickly became the obvious choice for her baccalaureate studies. Ashly relished the warm, friendly environment and found time to participate in Biology Club and SCRUBS (Starting Careers and Research Using Bachelors of Science).

"Both clubs helped me a great deal," Ashly says. "I learned better teamwork skills and improved my leadership skills. SCRUBS really opened my eyes to the many different professions within the field of biology."

The small classes and personal attention Ashly received at GGC helped her thrive. "The most fantastic thing about my time at GGC would have to be the fact that professors really care about you and want you to do well and to succeed in life," she says. "At GGC, you’re not just a number, everyone knows you by name. The time I spent at GGC was wonderful."
