History

In January 2007, the Division of Student Affairs hired its first employee. The Office of the Associate Vice President was the first Student Affairs area to become fully functional followed closely by the Office of the Dean of Student Development Services, Career Development and Advising Center and Office of Disability Services. Shortly thereafter, the Division moved from the B Building to the D Building opening the Office of Student Activities, later named the Office of Student Involvement, while simultaneously initiating programming in the newly acquired Fitness Center. The Office of Recreation and Intramural Spots was added to the Fitness Center line up and preceded the introduction of the Office of the Dean of Students, Office of Orientation and New Student Programs and Office of Student Integrity. The Office of Service Learning, Active Citizenship, and Community Engagement opened in September 2009 and in March 2010, GGC opened the Counseling and Psychological Services Center. In Summer 2010, the Outdoor Adventure Program began programming, the Fitness Center was renamed the Wellness and Recreation Center, and an inaugural residence hall opened with 1,029 beds.
