The Office of Student Involvement and the Student Center invite you to join us in a week of eco-friendly activities, February 27 through Saturday, March 3.
Together, we will promote sustainability projects and initiatives and encourage the entire GGC community to help preserve our environment:
RecycleMania, Feb. 5- March 31 campus-wide
This 8-week voluntary collegiate recycling competition is designed to increase recycling efforts and reduce waste. GGC participated for the first time last year and beat UGA in both the “Per Capita” and the “Grand Champion” categories.
Place recyclables in the green bins and trash in trash cans on campus. For more information, contact Dr. Amy H. Erickson.
Weigh the Waste

"Economics of Recycling” Feb. 28, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. (LVIS)
Stephanie Baker, a representative of KW Plastics, will lead the discussion. KW Plastics is an international leader in post-consumer and post-industrial plastics recycling. Recycling Carnival, Feb. 29, 11:00 a.m.– 1:00 p.m. (Library Lawn)
Come to GGC’s Recycling Carnival for games, art, information, and prizes. Play recycling bucketball, recycling bowling, recycling ring toss, recycling hockey, recycling speed sorting, or bring the most recyclables to win t-shirts, Frisbees, water bottles and more. Recycling Day, Mar. 3, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (D-Parking Lot)
Drop off your old computers, laptops, copiers, ink cartridges, appliances, televisions, and non-ferrous metals. Sponsored by the GGC Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) all proceeds from the sale of recyclables will be used to support students’ travel to a national conference/competition.
