Biography Mrs. Scott is the associate director of career development and advising and has a passion for career counseling and development. Under her direction, the Career Development and Advising Center produced Georgia Gwinnett College's first annual Graduate School Fair and the exciting Industry Night series. Primarily responsible for the Center's internal functions, Scott is the point of contact for students, faculty, staff and the CDAC's experiential education program. Scott sits on the board of the Georgia Career Development Association and is active in a variety of other professional organizations, such as the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers and African-Americans in Counseling and Professional Studies. Her career development experiences have allowed her to facilitate change in a variety of settings. Before joining the Student Affairs team at GGC, Scott interned in University Career Services at Emory University and worked in Alumni Career Services at Georgia State University. She worked for several years in corporate America and also has extensive non-profit experience in career management, working with organizations such as Dress for Success Atlanta and On My Sister's Porch. Along with career development, Scott enjoys event planning, client services and community relations. Scott is a nationally board certified counselor. She has a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications from Kent State University and a master's degree in professional counseling from Georgia State University. She has also received recognition and certification by the National Board of Certified Counselors. |
