Traffic and Parking Regulations
These regulations are designed to make parking and traffic at Georgia Gwinnett College as convenient and safe as possible. Regulations apply to students, faculty, staff and visitors. Students are permitted to park in designated “Student Parking” areas only. Absolutely no student, staff or faculty parking in “Visitor” spaces. All parking regulations are enforced 24 hours a day.
The following parking or traffic violations may result in a citation, towing of the vehicle or other actions:
- Parking in posted restricted/reserved space, handicap space, yellow curb, fire lane, no parking space, or visitor space.
- Parking in non-designated parking areas around buildings (other than emergency vehicles and deliveries).
- Parking illegally, such as parking on a curb, seeded areas, walkways, blocking a driveway, blocking dumpsters or wheelchair ramps, or occupying more than one parking space.
- Vehicle registration violation, such as not displaying a current decal or a temporary permit.
- Failure to comply with traffic control devices, such as exceeding the campus speed limit of 20 miles per hour or 10 miles per hour in the parking lots.
- Extended parking in 15-minute parking zones.
- Leaving an inoperable vehicle parked on campus.
- Overnight parking.

All other Traffic, Pedestrian and Parking Violations: $35
Repeat Violator:
3rd violation, base fine plus $15
4th violation, base fine plus $25
5th violation, base fine plus $40
6th violation, base fine plus $50
7th violation, possible revocation of vehicle operations privilege on GGC property
(Repeat violations accrued by academic calendar year, August – July)
Payment of Fines
Payment of fines must be received at Student Accounts during regular business hours within seven days of the date of the citation. A wheel boot may be applied to the vehicle until fines are paid. Students’ grades, future registration, records and diplomas will be held until all fines are paid. All traffic and parking citations may be appealed within seven days of the date of violation.
Towing
Georgia Gwinnett College reserves the right to impound any vehicle parked in a manner dangerous to vehicular or pedestrian traffic, or otherwise in violation of traffic/parking regulations. The owner is responsible for all cost involved in removing, impounding, and storing such vehicles. If time permits, an effort will be made to identify and contact the owner of the vehicle before impounding. This is accomplished by searching vehicle registration information.
Vehicle Assistance
Georgia Gwinnett College Security will respond to a request for assistance with a privately owned vehicle. The driver/owner of the vehicle must sign a Request for Service Waiver before any hands-on assistance will be given in the form of unlocking a vehicle.
