Living and Learning

The introduction of residence life on the GGC campus provides for the
development of a model 21st century active learning community that engages
students in common experiences inside and outside the classroom. Utilizing a
variety of higher education best practices including faculty involvement,
curriculum integration, campus-wide activity programming, and conscientious
student interest groups, student well-being is nurtured as a whole.

For the student, living on campus is efficient and practical because it:

• Allows students to be within walking distance of classes, clubs, campus life and dining
• Provides a secure living and learning environment that fosters the opportunity to build life-long friendships
• Offers easy access to a myriad of academic support services, promoting student success

Growing as a Person

Living on campus is a great way to meet and make new friends. Students will be able to meet other students, as well as get accustomed to more independent living. Campus activities designed especially for students living on campus will help students transition from "at home" to "on their own."

Resident Assistants

To ensure that students are satisfied with on-campus housing, resident assistants will live in designated suites. Resident assistants are responsible for supervising the student residents and will be present to answer and respond to any questions or concerns the residents may have.

The Living-Learning Confluence

Students will be able to attend some classes in their own hall and will also be able to collaborate and engage with other students in numerous academic study and academic programming rooms throughout the complex.

The use of academic study and academic programming rooms along with an academic seminar room (classroom) are great ways to fully integrate academic life into residence life.

Academic Study and Academic Programming Rooms
When students need a place to study, attend a student organization meeting, or hold meetings or other activities, the Academic Study and Academic Programming Areas located in the residence halls will be available.

Academic Seminar Room
Students will have a relaxed atmosphere to complete their academic tasks and reach their goals. At the same time, students will also be able to interact with other residents.

Laundry Facilities

Not only can residents have a sense of community during their stay in the residence halls, but they can also gain independence. Using their Claw Cards, residents will be able to wash their own clothes in the laundry facilities. The laundry facilities are easily accessible in the residence halls and will be open every day for the convenience of every resident.
