Georgia Gwinnett College has many Registered Student Organizations for you to take part in. To join a group, simply contact the organization’s listed president or advisor and let them know you are interested.

The mission of the Biology Club is to create a social outlet through which GGC students can collaborate with educators and biological professionals to enhance their understanding of basic biological concepts and scientific techniques. To expose GGC students to speakers and field trips that will broaden their appreciation of career options and the role of biology in our society.

The Environmental Club seeks to enhance students and faculty members' understanding of the environment and shall provide a creative, intriguing incorporation of in-class knowledge with real-world applications in such a way as to protect the environment. Through active participation, students shall have opportunities to explore remarkable mechanisms of the environment and to acquire high-level social and leadership abilities.

The mission of the Fencing team is to increase students' awareness and appreciation of the sport of fencing and to introduce members to the basics of the sport such as footwork, blade work, and tactics. The fencers will gain physical fitness through fencing and regimented workout routines that will improve endurance and strength. The fencers will also develop leadership skills through leading practices, communication skills by teaching others, and teamwork skills as they work with each other to build the team.

 

Fight Back for Children

Fight back for Children raises awareness of children that are in need of an education and security. We will help and assist the Children's Foster Foundation and Invisible Children in Uganda, Africa. Members of Fight Back will learn about responsibility to volunteer and serve the community efficiently. Members will learn responsibility by volunteering and serving in the community.

 

Film Appreciation Society

The Film Appreciation Society is for students interested in hosting film screenings on campus. The primary goal of the club is to expose its members and the GGC community to films that they have not seen before and to enhance appreciation for those films that they have seen. The organization will show cult, classic, foreign and independent films, but are also interested in bringing new, mainstream movies to campus.

The purpose of the French club is to cultivate an environment conducive to academic achievement. By promoting unity among its members through the organization of various cultural, intellectual, academic and social activities, this club hopes to raise awareness of French and francophone cultures, foster and broaden culinary horizons, and maintain a relaxed and socially inviting atmosphere. In addition, French club hopes to promote the understanding, study and appreciation of the French language and francophone culture.

The Union's mission, is to satisfy the needs of the musicians at GGC so that they may, in turn, satisfy the needs of others who find passion in listening to their music. The mission of Pride Alliance is to promote tolerance and equality among all students through educational efforts and awareness-building. We also strive to create a safe, welcoming space for Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, and Transgender (GLBT) and Straight Ally students to socialize and talk together about issues they hold in common and to set up safe-space program for students to feel free to go talk about issues without judgment.

The purpose of the Psychology Club is three-fold. One, to increase awareness of the opportunities in the field of psychology for students, staff, and faculty at GGC. Second, to create a forum for those people interested in learning more about the psychology to gather information and participate in the field. Thirdly, to facilitate involvement in psychological issues, such as relevant community service projects, leadership roles in this organization, and participation in lectures, films, etc., relevant to the field.

The mission of the SCRUBS Club is to provide students with knowledge pertaining to the correct procedures to obtain acceptance into a professional school. This will include, but not be limited to, veterinary school, dentistry school, medical school, pharmacy school, and/or other professional schools. This organization will also supply information about required testing to get into a specific professional program, as well as assisting members in securing service opportunities that will allow them to gain a better understanding of their profession of interest. This will include, but not be limited to, shadowing and internship experiences.

The SGA is also committed to students' academic, social, and cultural well-being by promoting students' rights and responsibilities to the college, the community, and humanity; furthermore, allowing students, with their talents and ambitions, the opportunity to exercise their civic responsibilities.

Students 4 Christ is a non-denominational ministry designed to help GGC Christians grow in faith during a critical time in a student's life, as well to inform others of the Christian faith. Student 4 Christ will serve as a community where Christians can find shelter during the trials of college life. Student 4 Christ desires to encourage believers with wholesome fellowship and accountability. Students 4 Christ aspires to blend Bible study, worship, prayer, and friendship together to create a setting where students can hang out while learning God's word.

 

Swim Club

Is to cultivate personal discipline during practices and swim meets, enhance self-esteem, build confidence, provide opportunities for social interaction and growth, and enhance interpersonal relationships with team mates, family, and friends. The Swim Club promotes healthy sportsmanship in its members by teaching its members how to win gracefully and to lose honorably. The Swim Club gives individuals a sense of pride by allowing them to work towards their personal goals, build a solid self-efficacy, and compete among one another to improve personal swimming abilities and times. The Swim Club strives to instill responsibility, personal accountability, self motivation, visual motivation, goal setting, and achievement and will enable students to reap the benefits of swimming, creating positive lifelong experiences in the process.

 

Tennis Club
