At GGC, we believe that a parent’s involvement in his or her student’s education should not end after high school graduation. The GGC Parents Council exists to engage and inform parents to better meet the needs of both students and parents.

The Parents Council is a vital liaison between GGC and parents, allowing parents to communicate their suggestions, concerns and ideas directly to GGC through their council representatives. Volunteer Parents Council members who dedicate their talents, time and resources help secure opportunities for both their students and future Grizzlies.

The Parents Council encompasses the following main areas:

Communication

If you’d like to be added to our email distribution list, email Nate Jones, director of annual giving. Please be sure to include your name, contact information and your student’s name, class year and major (if applicable). We will contact you with announcements, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and more.

Activities and Events

The Parents Council coordinates different events and activities for parents to participate in on campus. Proposed events include welcome receptions for the incoming class, new parent orientation and Parent/Grandparent Day.

Volunteering

Parent volunteers are ambassadors of goodwill promoting a cause they believe in: the education and well-being of students at GGC and the entire Georgia Gwinnett College community. Being a parent volunteer is one more way to stay connected and involved in your child’s Georgia Gwinnett College experience. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer.

Parents Fund

Money given to the Parents Fund goes directly to where it is needed the most. The GGC Parents Fund will help carry out our core mission, and continue to expand and enrich the educational experience for current and future students.

In the past, parents have raised money for GGC through group fundraising activities, individual contributions, matched contributions through their employers and more. Money from outside sources is vital to GGC, as tuition revenues only cover about 60% of the cost of your student’s education.

Please consider investing in your student's future by Giving a Gift Today!
