March Through the Arch is a special welcome event for all new students.
The 2015 new student “March through the Arch” will be held Thursday, August 13, at 6:30 p.m. During this traditional event, all new first-year and transfer students will walk through the Arch of Knowledge, symbolizing their entrance into the community of learners at Georgia Gwinnett College.
As new students pass through the Arch of Knowledge, they will pass between two lines of GGCs faculty, who will welcome them to the college. These “faculty lines” represent the close bonds that are formed between Georgia Gwinnett’s students and faculty.
Also, at the 5th annual, “March through the Arch,” GGC’s entering class of 2015:
- Will be welcomed by Dr. Stas Preczewski, president, as well as Dr. Lois C. Richardson, interim senior vice president for Academic and Student Affairs/Provost, the president of the GGC Student Government Association, and Sean George, GGC alumnus.
- Will be GGC’s guests of honor at the reception afterwards with the faculty.
Parents and guests also are welcome to attend “March through the Arch.”
NOTE: The first 300 students who arrive and have their ID cards swiped will be allowed to register FIRST for their spring 2016 classes – before upper-class students!
