Wed. Oct 24, 2018 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Heritage Room, Kaufman Library

The Daniel J. Kaufman Library and the Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL) are pleased to present Fake News: Disentangling Truth in the Digital Age on October 24 in the Kaufman Library’s Heritage Room.

Between fake news, alternative facts, biased sources, selective sharing, information bubbles, and more, how can anyone feel like they are fairly and accurately evaluating the waterfall of knowledge that deluges us every single day? This program will explore the history of disinformation.

Mack Freeman, branch manager for GCPL, is the presenter. Mack is the current chair of the American Library Association’s Intellectual Freedom Round Table, the chair of the Georgia Library Association's Intellectual Freedom Interest Group, and a former chair of the Stonewall Book Awards, sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table (GLBTRT) of the American Library Association. Come learn how to disentangle the truth and empower yourself in the information age.
