David Weiss: DIRECTORY

Dr. David S. Weiss earned his PhD in English literature from the University of Birmingham in the UK and the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-Upon-Avon after retiring as the CFO of a Fortune 1000 company. He has written extensively on the relationship between the works of William Shakespeare and the poet Samuel Daniel, which was also the topic of his doctoral dissertation. He has an MBA from the Wharton School and undergraduate degrees in accounting and English from the University of Pennsylvania.

Weiss seeks to share his unique combination of literary expertise and business experience with young people to demonstrate that the analytical and communication skills developed through the study of English literature are critical to their professional success regardless of the careers they choose.

Weiss is from New York originally but has lived in Atlanta for the past 30 years. He has served on the boards of the Atlanta Shakespeare Company, The William Breman Jewish Home, Zoo Atlanta and the Alfred and Adele Davis Academy. He is interested in literature, theater, music, business/finance and everything Shakespearean.
