Biography

A professor at the University of Georgia, Mercer University and Georgia Gwinnett College, Mr. Bob Anservitz has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels for 28 years. His B.A. was awarded by the University of Pittsburgh; his M.S. was completed at the University of Illinois; and his Ph.D. – coursework only – was completed at the University of Illinois.

Anservitz specializes in performance metrics and quality assurance in the healthcare, financial and telecom industries. He has worked fulltime in marketing for C&S Bank (now Bank of America) as marketing director, BellSouth as director of quality assurance and customer satisfaction, AT&T as director, performance management, Bank Management Resources as SVP of marketing, and Anservitz & Associates, Inc.

Anservitz has been awarded the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, The Pinnacle Award and The ACE Award for Achieving Customer Excellence. He was most recently guest speaker at the Customer Relations Management Association's National Conference and co-authored "Saint-Simon and Saint-Simonism – A Weberian View" published in the American Journal of Sociology. Anservitz has been awarded community service awards from The Children's Wish Foundation, Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, and received The Vital Citizens Award from Vital Citizens, Atlanta.

The cornerstones of Anservitzes' philosophy of teaching emphasize 1) ensuring students' ability to use (not rote memorize) the concepts being taught, 2) optimizing student engagement, 3) using feedback to ensure maximum student performance, and 4) teaching in a helical or baseline-up manner. He teaches, he says, "the way he wanted to be taught – which, he adds, occurred all too seldom."
