Biography

Dr. George S. Low comes to GGC from California State University (CSU), East Bay, Hayward, where he served as the dean of the College of Business and Economics and professor of marketing. There, he encouraged the revitalization of the entrepreneurship concentration to increase the entrepreneurship ecosystem on that campus and build strong links to the thriving technology sector in the Bay Area. Low also led the revision of the College of Business and Economics’ Strategic Plan for 2020-2025. At CSU, East Bay, he worked collaboratively with leadership to allocate an annual operating budget of $15 million to align with strategic plan priorities and improve outcomes across programs and departments.

The founder of the Student Advisory Board in the CSU, East Bay College of Business and Economics, he also supported the development of a new first-year experience course for incoming students to encourage engagement, retention and timely graduation. He was also part of the academic affairs leadership team that designed a new holistic student advising model in support of these same goals.

Before his service at CSU, East Bay, Low was the dean of the College of Business and Economics at Radford University, Radford, Virginia where he led the development of a comprehensive implementation blueprint for the college’s five-year strategic plan in collaboration with faculty, department chairs, program directors and associate dean.

Low served as associate dean of undergraduate studies and international programs in the Neeley School of Business, Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas. In that role, Low chaired a faculty committee that developed a comprehensive strategy and plan for international programs in the Neeley School of Business. He was also a department chair and tenured faculty member during his eighteen years at TCU.

Additionally, Low served as an ACE Fellow with the President of the University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, Texas, and held faculty positions at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah.

Low earned his PhD in business administration from the University of Colorado-Boulder, his master’s degree in business administration at the University of Western Ontario, and his bachelor’s degree in advertising from Brigham Young University.
