Michael Gunther: DIRECTORY

Dr. Michael Gunther was raised in Lake George, a tourist destination in upstate New York known for its connections to the French and Indian War, the American Revolution and the Hudson River School of landscape art. From an early love of history, Gunther developed a teaching philosophy centered on discussion of maps, images and other primary sources in the classroom. His research examines the impact of wars on the environment (and vice versa) in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century North America.
