New Vice Presidents Appointed

Dr. Daniel Kaufman, President of Georgia Gwinnett College, announced the appointment of two new Vice Presidents: Mr. Eddie Beauchamp as Vice President for Business and Finance and Dr. Gordon Harrison as Vice President for Advancement. Both individuals have lengthy experience in the University System of Georgia, and in their respective fields. Additionally, both were involved in the planning phases of GGC as Assistant Directors at Gwinnett University Center.

Dr. Daniel Kaufman, President of Georgia Gwinnett College, announced the appointment of two new Vice Presidents: Mr. Eddie Beauchamp as Vice President for Business and Finance and Dr. Gordon Harrison as Vice President for Advancement. Both individuals have lengthy experience in the University System of Georgia, and in their respective fields. Additionally, both were involved in the planning phases of GGC as Assistant Directors at Gwinnett University Center.

The appointments were approved by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia during a regular meeting on January 11. "In accepting these appointments, I thank the Regents for their support of Georgia Gwinnett College," stated Dr. Kaufman, "The Regents have shown great wisdom in their action."

Dr. Kaufman also noted that the two individuals are highly qualified: "Eddie Beauchamp and Gordon Harrison have long served the University System of Georgia in a number of capacities, and have excellent reputations in their respective fields."

Eddie Beauchamp has been a business officer and auditor for the State Department of Audits, Georgia Tech, Georgia Perimeter College, and the Gwinnett University Center prior to accepting the Vice President position at GGC. Beauchamp is a specialist in internal auditing, preparing financial and compliance audits, and auditing mainframe applications and operating systems used by state agencies and universities. Beauchamp holds a Business Degree from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, with a minor in Computer Science and Computer Information Systems.

As Vice President for Business and Finance, Beauchamp will oversee the financial operations of GGC in addition to managing the departments of human resources, facilities, security, and internal audit.

Dr. Gordon Harrison has previously been a Vice President at Kennesaw State University, and served as a senior member of the administrations of former Governor George Busbee and in the House of Representatives. He also was the Executive Director of the World Technology Center, an Institute in the University System of Georgia that located offices in Atlanta, Miami, and Beijing China. Harrison has lectured at Oxford University in England, Beijing University, and Nanchang University in China on crisis management and crisis communication. He holds a Masters' Degree in Professional Writing with a specialization in Internet communications and a Doctorate from Georgia State University with a specialization in crisis management and crisis communication. He was the youngest Science Advisor to the Governor in the United States for Governor Busbee.

Harrison assumes the role of Vice President for Advancement at GGC to oversee fundraising, media, advertising, and government affairs. He will also manage the operations and staff of the soon-to-be-chartered Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation.
