GGC Students Learn about the Holocaust from Eye-Witnesses

A liberator of Dachau and Vice Chairman of Georgia’s Commission on the Holocaust, General Weiskircher, will make a presentation to GGC students on Wednesday, Nov. 14 on “World War II, the Holocaust and Anne Frank.”

Weiskircher will be joined by two colleagues, John Jordan and Jeana Collins. Jordan is a naturalized American hero who watched the Nazis kill Jews in the streets of Amsterdam and Collins is a Mandel scholar, well-versed in Anne Frank.

GGC Associate Professor of Political Science Dovile Budryte arranged the presentation and states, “the students will hear a moving personal story of a World War II veteran. This event is very relevant to GGC’s mission because our college would like to foster civic engagement, thus helping to develop future leaders.”

Members of the media are welcome to attend either the 1:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. presentation in GGC’s C-Building, Room C2110.
