Mealor family donates first major gift to GGC Foundation

Dr. Daniel J. Kaufman, president of Georgia Gwinnett College, announced today that the Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation has received its first major financial gift. Kaufman stated that the gift was given by long-time Gwinnett residents, entrepreneurs, and business owners Mr. Gladston Mealor, Mrs. Carolyn Mealor Streetman, Mr. Clyde Streetman, and Mr. Sidney Mealor. Kaufman and GGC Foundation Chairman Glenn S. White recently accepted the check for $150,000.

Dr. Daniel J. Kaufman, president of Georgia Gwinnett College, announced today that the Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation has received its first major financial gift. Kaufman stated that the gift was given by long-time Gwinnett residents, entrepreneurs, and business owners Mr. Gladston Mealor, Mrs. Carolyn Mealor Streetman, Mr. Clyde Streetman, and Mr. Sidney Mealor. Kaufman and GGC Foundation Chairman Glenn S. White recently accepted the check for $150,000.

“This is a historical milestone for the college to receive this very sizable gift,” Kaufman said. “We are so appreciative of the Mealors and thankful that they are a part of our GGC family. They are indeed a shining example of this County which has provided and continues to provide tremendous support for the College.”

“We are grateful for this opportunity to give back,” stated Carolyn Streetman. Glad Mealor added, “This College will mean so much to the future of Gwinnett County. We are delighted to be able to make this contribution.”

“The Foundation is a vital part of the institution and is critical for the long-term success of the College,” says White. “The Mealors’ gift is something that we will long remember and in fact will become an important historical milestone in the history of the institution.”
