Georgia Gwinnett College has named M. Deborah Patz as director of corporate and foundation relations.

In this role, she will be responsible for identifying and facilitating partnerships between the College and corporations, community organizations and foundations. She also will raise private support for the College, and provide strategic guidance for the corporate and foundation relations team within GGC’s Office of Development.

Patz has worked in both corporate and higher education environments. She has extensive experience in corporate and foundation relations, grant seeking and academic affairs at the University of Pittsburgh and Saint Vincent College, both in Pennsylvania. Most recently, she was director of organization development for Stiefel Laboratories in Duluth, Ga., where she led strategic initiatives in global internal communications, change management and organizational effectiveness.

“Debbie’s corporate and higher education experience will enable her to effectively connect Georgia Gwinnett with the many organizations that have a vested interest in our success,” said Gordon Harrison, president of the Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation. “These relationships enhance the student educational experience, strengthen institution resources and keep academia in touch with the changing global marketplace for which it is preparing its graduates.”

Patz has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, PA, and a master’s in public policy and management from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA.

She and her husband reside in Lawrenceville.
