Former U.S. Ambassador Wyche Fowler addresses GGC students

Students at Georgia Gwinnett College learned about the culture, economy and politics of the Middle East today from former U.S. Ambassador Wyche Fowler.

Students at Georgia Gwinnett College learned about the culture, economy and politics of the Middle East today from former U.S. Ambassador Wyche Fowler.

The GGC Polis Club invited Fowler to share his perspectives on the recent and ongoing social unrest in several Middle Eastern countries. He also discussed his experiences in national and international public service to Georgia and to the nation.

Fowler served as a U.S. Representative from Georgia’s 5th District from 1977 until 1987 and then as a U.S. Senator until 1993. He was appointed U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia in 1996, serving for five years. He is the current chairman of the board of governors for the Middle East Institute.
