Information technology students take top awards at research competition


A group of information technology students recently took top awards during the student research competition portion of the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges Southeast Conference at Furman University.

Student team members included Jory Alexander, Matthew Camp, Mike Deiters, Pedro Garcia, Anastasiya Golovan, Jacob Piazza, and Gina Ann Rosbury and Kevin Stevens.

Dr. Evelyn Brannock, assistant professor of information technology; Dr. Robert Lutz, associate professor of information technology; Dr. Derek Behmke, assistant professor of chemistry; and Dr. David Kerven, associate professor of information technology, served as advisors.

Robert M. Anservitz, assistant professor of marketing, was recognized as RSO Advisor of the Year for academic year 2016-2017 for his work with the Marketing Club. 

Dr. Dovile Budryte


Dr. Dovile Budryte, professor of political science, recently received an award for excellence from her alma mater, Old Dominion University. The award was established in memory of Naqib Ahmad Kpulwak, a graduate from Old Dominion’s who recently passed away while teaching at American University in Kabul.  

Biology student Zahra Ali places second at STEM Research and Career Symposium


Zahra Ali, ’17, biology, recently received second place in a recent poster presentation at the STEM Research and Career Symposium hosed by the Laney Graduate School at Emory University.
