Dr. Lior Burko appears at AnachroCon 2019




 

Dr. Lior Burko, associate professor of physics, was a moderator and panelist for the AnachroCon 2019 convention, "The Time Traveler's Ball." He moderated the "Astronomy Now and Then" panel discussion. He served as a panelist for the "What about Time Travel?" and "The Inhabitants of the Heavens" sessions and a round table discussion of modern scientific misconceptions.

Dr. Karla Caillouet, assistant professor of exercise science, co-authored the paper, “Association of health empowerment and handgrip strength with intention to participate in physical activity among community-dwelling older adults,” in the peer-reviewed journal Experimental Gerontology.

Dr. Lakiesa Rawlinson, director of Student Involvement and the Student Center, was elected to serve as the 2019-21 vice president of member engagement for the Southern Association of College Student Affairs, an independent, regional and generalist association for the professional development of practitioners, educators and students engaged in the student affairs profession.

Dr. Evelyn Brannock, assistant professor of information technology, and Dr. Lissa Pollacia, professor of information technology, received the 2018 Faculty Advisor Award from CompTIA Association of IT Professionals, the leading association for technology professionals, students and educators. The two have worked cooperatively to create rich learning and professional development opportunities for information technology students, particularly through annual trips to the U.S. Information Technology Collegiate Conference, where GGC students have won multiple national awards and championships.
