GGC's Jose Dugo wins ITA Oracle Cup men's singles title

GGC men's tennis player Jose Dugo, '22, general business–management, is the new singles champion of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) Oracle Cup. He will represent the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics at the ITA Fall National Championships Nov. 6-10, 2019.

Kat Ihlenburg named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association board of directors

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association recently named the members of its board of directors for 2020. Six coaches were named to the board, including Kat Ihlenburg, GGC's first head coach of the softball program. She and the other new board members will officially begin their three-year tenures January 1, 2020.

GGC's Tomas Jimenez selected for USG mental health task force

University System of Georgia Chancellor Steve Wrigley has appointed a mental health task force to address the growing concern of mental health challenges on college and university campuses.

Albany State University President Marion Fedrick and Valdosta State University President Richard Carvajal will co-chair the task force, which consists of members from seven other USG schools. GGC's Tomas Jimenez, senior associate provost for student affairs and dean of students, will serve on the task force.
