Katherine “Kace” Garcesa, ’20, exercise science, was recently awarded one of four Outstanding Peer Educators Awards at the National NASPA-BACCHUS Health, Safety, and Well-being Initiatives conference. She is one of GGC's peer health educators and the first at GGC to win this national award.
Dr. Binh Tran
The University System of Georgia (USG) invited GGC's Dr. Binh Tran, assistant professor of information technology and a GGC Top Claw recipient, to submit an essay describing a classroom practice or pedagogy that he uses to engage students.
USG published the article titled, “Peer Instructional Review Sessions," (PDF) in the, “Engaged Student Learning: Essays on Best Practices in the University System of Georgia, Volume 1, 2019," e-book.
According to the USG website, the book recognizes the excellence of all individuals who had been nominated for one of the prestigious Regents’ Awards for Teaching Excellence, the USG’s highest recognition of exemplary teaching.
