Welcome back, Grizzlies!
This is to let you know that Georgia Gwinnett College has updated the course teaching methods based on information received as of Monday, July 27, 2020. You can now see this when you view courses in Banner. Please continue to review class listings for potential changes in format or location.
The below descriptions will help you identify how classes will be taught and listed in the course selections:
- All classes meet face-to-face – This means you must attend the class or clinical, etc., in person. All days and times will be noted. This is coded with meeting times and locations.
- Classes meet virtually – This means you must attend the class all days and times noted, BUT the class meetings will not be held in person on campus. You will attend these classes online. These classes are coded with online meeting times.
- Classes meet asynchronous – This means you will be given assignments and may have times when you must log on, but the class will not have a scheduled day and time to meet. These classes are coded with no meeting times and are completely online.
- Hybrid – Hybrid courses require that students do much of the work (reading, participating in discussions and viewing lectures) online in MyCourses (Brightspace by D2L, login required). Because there are limited classroom capacities that comply with social distancing recommendations, the entire class will generally not be able to gather all at one time. Faculty will communicate to you the days you should be physically on campus and the days you should not. These classes are coded with meeting times with a notation that the class is hybrid.
All protocols for cleaning the classrooms will be followed for any classes meeting on campus.
